Large Item Pickup: The large pick up is a special arrangement for Shannon Valley Residents. Waste Management allows one large item the first Friday of each month. Many large items can be picked up. Place you large item at the curb near your trash. Please note: it will be collected by a different truck than the normal trash truck, so do not be surprised if your trash is taken but the large item remains until later in the day.
Polycart Waste Containers: Waste Management wants to make getting your waste to the curb as easy as possible. That is why provided wheeled polycart waste containers. The container is on wheels so that you can easily roll it to the curb. They also have a hinged lid so that on a windy day, there is no chance of the lid getting blown down the street. The lid also helps to keep animals out of the trash.
Needles & Sharps: For those customers that need to have needles or other sharp objects disposed of, we ask that you keep the following guidelines in mind: Please package all sharps and needles in a heavy plastic container such as a laundry detergent or bleach bottle and seal off with duct tape. We would also ask that it be clearly marked as “Needles”.
Paint and other Hazardous Waste: Waste Management is unable to take any kind of liquefied paint or hazardous waste. However paint cans that are either empty or where the paint is solidified can be picked up. Feel free to contact the following numbers for additional disposal information:
