Park Project - UPDATE
Shannon
Valley Park -
The new SV
Park is nearing completion. We are now only waiting on the
installation of the shelter. That is scheduled to happen
the first week of June. A number of residents are
assisting with the watering of the new
sod and the Landscape committee is working on a temporary
solution to keep the new grass wet so it will not die.
We appreciate all who have helped with this
and could always use more volunteers for this task.
The new
Tennis Court is ready for use. The net was installed
today. This is a multi-sport court meaning that the net
can be raised for Volleyball or Badminton
in addition to Tennis.
Instructions for how to do this will be
posted on the web page. The net should always be
left in the tennis position after use. This
is a Tennis Court and should never
be used for Bikes, Rollerblades or Skateboards.
The Tennis Net should stay in place at all times but can be
moved up or down depending on the sport being played.
We have installed temporary signs at the
court with instructions and
restrictions for the
use of the Court. Permanent
signs will be installed Monday or Tuesday.
I would
remind all SV residents that this is your facility and it needs
to be protected and used properly. This represents a large
investment of your Association Dues and you should not only
use the facility but also protect it.
Should you see improper use don’t hesitate to discuss
this with the person(s), contact the police if necessary and
notify the Shannon Valley Board. This is like the “Neighborhood
Watch” activity.
Protect your investment.
Upon
installation and completion of the Shelter, we will have a grand
opening celebration at the park. More news on that will be
published soon.
Landscape Committee
The Landscape Committee has done a great job with the new
Grant & College monument and the landscaping at the entrance
and at the Tennis Court. Also the new markers at the
Grandview and Benson entrances. Thanks to Becky Switzer
for taking charge of this effort. Please let her know how good
this looks and if you would like to
participate on the Landscape committee contact Becky at

been appointed for
2012. Becky Switzer has volunteered to be a Board member
along with, John Hunt, Mike Driggs, Lori Kueker
and Troy Russell. All others are welcome to participate with the

Late Association
Dues
There continue to be a handful
of residents that have not yet paid dues for 2012. A reminder Dues notices
was sent out in March. If Dues are not received by April
15 a late fee of $50 will be charged and trash services will be
terminated. Voting rights and use of the SV Park facilities will
also be terminated. Additionally a lien will be placed on
the property. If you are renting the property, check with
your landlord to make sure they have paid the dues.
